Oh my goodness, thank you Stephanie, I loved finding out about all of these and promptly ordered second hand copies of the Brambly Hedge season books. I love seasonal books and am a big fan of the Flower Fairies! I also love getting out the winter/solstice books when the time comes. I love The Shortest Day by Susan Cooper. I refer to The Almanac by Lia Leendertz on an almost daily basis but it is very UK specific xx

They are the sweetest books. Crabapple Cottage is my dream home. Enjoy! The Shortest Day looks like a lovely, snuggly read. I am very jealous you have Lia's Almanac to guide you in the UK. I would LOVE a southern hemisphere version.

Yes you absolutely need one! I really find I need it to orient into the month. Perhaps you will have to create the Almanac for the Antipodes…! xx

This is such a great compendium! Thank you 🙏🏼 I’ve been looking for some more kids books. I too love Slow Seasons. Sophie Hansen’s cookbooks are beautiful seasonal repositories for cooking with the cycles.

Thank you Rachel. I am waiting for What Can I Bring? to find its way to me via the library holds queue but following your prompt I've now gone and popped all of her other books on hold too ☺️

Hi Stephanie, we have many of the children's books on your list. The kids love the Alison Lester one. If you have the chance, check out Sprinter and Sprummer by Tim Entwhistle. Another fantastic resource (but not a book) is the Indigenous Weather Knowledge section on BOM.

Really enjoyed these seasonal book suggestions Stephanie, gosh and Brambly Hedge, that took me back! I'll look forward to looking up your recommendations. I also have Slow Seasons and I like Sacred Seasons too by Kirsty Gallagher. I haven't read Wild Power but would highly recommend Code Red by Lisa Lister which is along the same lines. Also love the library, what I love doing is when my youngest really loves a library books, I try and find it second hand. I rarely buy new books for the kids, so many good finds in the library or charity shops.

I'm yet to read Sacred Seasons but it's on my radar. Thanks for the recommendations Jenna! Charity shop kids books are the best. I have found some absolute treasures that aren't in print anymore. I have a penchant for illustrations pre-digital era. Just this week I found a Shirley Barber book at the op shop and my daughter and I were pouring over the detail rich drawings.
